Flight companion
Flight companion means to take an animal with you for someone else.

Animals from egypt are under the new law since 1.October 2004.We will only trust you with animals that have all their required and correct papers,so you will not have any problems with customs when you arrive. We help you to check in with the animal and someone will be waiting to pick the animal up when you come out of customs.

Our aim is not to export animals. But since the local people don t want any dogs,or maybe only special breeds,we see ourselves forced to send the puppies and the adult streetdogs out of the country. Our main aim is to decrease the animal population here by castrations. With the adoptionfee of one dog we can castrate 3-4 streetdogs or cats.

Importregulations for Europe
New EU-Passport for cats and ferrets

Vaccination for rabbies must be proven/increased importregulations for import of pets from non EU-Countries

Even pets receive their own EU-Passport now:since the 1.October 2004 dogs, cats and ferrets who are vaccinated for rabbies need a Passport valid for Europe, the socalled ,,Pet-Passport,, .For all dogs, cats  and ferrets that have been vaccinated before the 1.October 2004 there is a temporary regulation until the expiry of the vaccination date. Also since that month new increased importregulatins for pets from non EU-Countries are valid. The office for the protection of the consumer is pointing this out.

The new EU-Passport must be established and filled out by the resident veterinary doctors. The passport must clearly be assigned to the animal, which means, the animal must be identifiable by  tatoo or microchip and the number of the tatoo or microchip must be registered in the Passport. If  someone vaccinated his dog or cat against rabies last June for example and this vaccination is registered in the normal yellow International Vaccination  Passport ,he can travel through Europe until June next year.Dogs, cats and ferrets can only be vaccinated beginning at the age of  3 months.

Besides the information about the animal and his owner, the Passport must also show the veterinarians proof that a vaccination against rabies exists. The vaccination is valid if the vaccination against rabies occurred minimum of  30 days before traveling and lies maximum 12 months back.If you already want to travel with the new Pet-Passport,even if a rabies vaccination is not necessary at this time for the dog or cat,can ask his veterinary to transfer the information of pet and owner.

With the new laws to the 1.October 2004,also the regulations  for the import of animals from ,,third,, countries, for example Turkey, have been incresed:the animals which are imported to an EU-Country must be tatooed or marked electronically.Added to this they must have a ,,rabies titer,, ,a bloodtest that prooves the protection of the vaccination.Hereby must be payed attention to:the ,,rabies titer,, can only be determined if the animal is at least three months old,the rabies vaccination lies back at least 30 days and the time of the bloodtest was latest taken 3 months before traveling. This means:the animals can travel after they reach 7 moths of age.

According to the EU-pet Guidelines, animals that don t fullfill the import requirements, must be sent back to their departure country, isolated under official control or-as last way out,as long as sending back or isolation through quarantine is not possible-to be killed.Reason for these strict regulations is the concerne that rabies will be brought in from ,,third,, Countries. Some years ago this was the case in Düsseldorf: 300 contact people had to be found and vaccinated, not vaccinated dogs that had contact to the rabies infected dog had to be killed. These informations are also important for all travelers who want to help us as a flight companion.Often the animals from other countries are given to the traveler, who is not informed about the laws and requirements for the transport. The person who transports the animal is responsible.

Violations against the epedemic- and animal welfare laws are punished with fines up to   25 000,- euro.

Flight companies have order from the governments to even prevent the ,,check in,, of animals to Germany, which are unable to be imported .more informations about the office for Consumer Protection under the phone number 89-93242 and 89-93376.
